I have some unfortunate news for my American customers and friends. Effective immediately, I am reluctantly adding a 50% tariff surcharge to all Axewerx orders shipping to the United States. This is not a decision I wanted to make, and frankly, it is not something I am particularly happy about. I have customers and supporters in the United States who have been a huge part of the Axewerx journey, and the last thing I want to do is make it more expensive for you to buy one of my pedals.
On August 22, 2026, the United States imposed an additional 50% tariff on a range of Canadian-origin goods, following the breakdown of recent Canada-U.S. trade negotiations. The measures affect many Canadian goods across a number of categories. Because Axewerx pedals are proudly designed, built, and manufactured in Canada, these new trade measures affect orders entering the United States. Rather than simply absorb a 50% additional cost on U.S. orders, I unfortunately have to pass that cost along.
Axewerx is still a small operation, and every pedal that leaves my workshop represents a tremendous amount of work, learning, and personal investment. I want my pedals to be accessible to the people who want them, regardless of which side of the border they happen to live on. I sincerely hope this situation is temporary. Canada and the United States have an incredibly interconnected economy and a long history of working together, and I hope our governments can find a way to resolve this trade dispute sooner rather than later.
